Natchitoches Area Jaycees
The United States Junior Chamber (Jaycees) gives young people between the ages of 18 and 41 the tools they need to build the bridges of success for themselves in the areas of business development, management skills, individual training, community service, and international connections.
Established in 1920 to provide opportunities for young men to develop personal and leadership skills through service to others, the Jaycees have been a force for good in America and around the world for the past 88 years.
Jaycees helped establish AirMail services in America with Jaycee Charles Lindbergh, and have raised millions of dollars for causes such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the March of Dimes. They have built parks, playgrounds, hospitals, ball fields, and housing for the elderly while conducting service and support programs in thousands of communities nationwide.

The Natchitoches Area Jaycees are looking forward to an amazing year in 2012. Our event list has functions from February through December. Our May Golf Tournament will benefit the NSU softball team. The Cookin’ On The Cane BBQ festival in June has become a huge success for Natchitoches. Proceeds from that event will help fund the Veterans War Memorial park downtown. The 2011 Ducks Unlimited banquet was our largest on record and this year’s team is ready to pass that mark. The 2011 Toy Drive with MASH in December was larger than ever and continues to grow. Our success and continued growth in these events is due to the outstanding job of our past and present members. Our team steps up to the plate and hits a Grand Slam for every event.
2012 marks 56 years of history for the Natchitoches Area Jaycees. It marks my 6th year as a member of this organization. I have seen our membership climb from 6 members to almost 40. In those 6 years our events have tripled and our time and monetary donations to the community are immeasurable. I have made many life long friends and continue to meet outstanding members of our community. It has been an amazing journey and I am excited to take my turn as President of the Jaycees.
A special Thank You to our 2012 Officers & Board Members. It is going to be a GREAT year for the Jaycees.
